Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking up sadly at the latest viral on offer from our landlord, who shows them some snaps ahead of the charity match at Anfield on Sunday evening.
The match will be pitting Jamie Carragher against Steven Gerrard and both stars have contacted a host of famous friends to play on their side, including Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez.
Both forwards were prolific for Liverpool before their respective moves and while Suarez will certainly not be looking back wistfully, Torres probably is – and Liverpool fans are right there along with him, as they note that the forwards would have made a huge difference to their title hopes had they remained at the club.
We have to agree, but at least they have returned. Sort of.
