To keep their fans entertained in this difficult period of no football, West Ham hosted a Q&A session on Twitter with Mark Noble and Liverpool fans are thrilled with a certain answer he gave.
A supporter asked the Hammers skipper who was the better player out of Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard. To the Liverpool fans’ delight, Noble admitted Gerrard was ‘the complete footballer’ during his playing days.
‘Scholes v Lampard v Gerrard’ is an ongoing debate amongst fans, with plenty having differing opinions backed up by hard facts. However Noble has commented that ‘You only realise how good a player is when you play against them’.
Anfield’s superstar scouser played a total of 710 games for Liverpool, accumulating 186 goals and 115 assists in his 17 years with the club (via Transfermarkt).
Reds fans are absolutely loving Noble’s response as he named their former captain ahead of his ex-England colleagues.
