Liverpool: Fans blast FSG over damning report

Many Liverpool fans fumed at owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) over the prospect of their club losing £150m in revenue.

The Liverpool Echo reported that the Reds could lose out on the nine-figure sum if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League – with Jurgen Klopp’s side sitting fourth in the Premier League table before Sunday’s games.

John Henry, the club’s majority shareholder, was firm in his stance throughout January that the Merseysiders would not be bringing any new faces in. This was drastically changed and Liverpool brought both Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies through the door to combat the ongoing injury crisis.

On the back of this, the Reds have lost three games in a row with captain Jordan Henderson having to deputise as a centre-back, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all out with season-ending injuries.

As a result, supporters declared that they will point the finger at FSG if they miss out on the top four places this season, with some suggesting that they reacted far too slow last month.
