Loads of Liverpool fans have been left furious by the display of Divock Origi on Tuesday night, as one fan went so far as to say he is ‘worse than David N’Gog’ while another simply called him a ‘fraud’.
The Reds’ blip continued on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge as they crashed out of the FA Cup to Chelsea, despite Jurgen Klopp deploying a stronger team than many would have expected. Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson were amongst those who started the match, as was Origi, but the Belgium international was a huge disappointment.
Per Sofascore, the 24 year-old completed just 12 passes in the entire match at a completion rate of 63%, while he managed just one successful dribble, one shot on target, no key passes and 11 losses of possession.
Origi is of course a cult hero due to his knack of popping up with huge goals in Champions League finals and Merseyside derbies, but that hasn’t stopped fans from relentlessly criticising his recent form, culminating in the poor display against Chelsea.
