Liverpool fans were delighted to see images of the new Anfield Road development on the club’s official website.
The Merseyside club marched on with the first stage of the public consultation, which will listen to the views of the Anfield estate from residents and local businesses about what provisions needs to be made while construction works are taking place and after the work is completed.
Liverpool’s primary concerns are to expand the stadium. The plans will see the Anfield Road Stand completely renovated and transformed into an all-new 16,000-seat stand, that will increase the stadium’s capacity by 7,000 to 61,000.

A planning application for an extra 4,800 seats was allowed to lapse in September in favour of the more ambitious scheme.
Supporters were jubilant that the club were making significant progress and made their feelings clear on social media.
