Liverpool could be set to lose one of their key players this summer as Barcelona register interest in Gini Wijnaldum.
The Dutchman’s current deal with the club runs out in less than 12 months and Liverpool will reportedly not be offering him a new contract. Now, according to Neil Jones (relayed via @LFCTransferRoom), Ronald Koeman wants to bring Wijnaldum over to Spain to play for him again.

The 57-year-old will know the midfielder well after his time managing the Netherlands national team. However, an official offer has yet to be tabled from the Catalonians and Jones states Wijnaldum is not about to try and force a move.
Fans are discussing the idea of the 29-year-old leaving the club and it seems many are divided with their opinions. One supporter has said it ‘doesn’t sit right’ as they feel he should be offered new terms.
His 2019 Champions League performance was certainly enough to show he is capable of coming up with the goods, indeed he was instrumental in the comeback against Barca in the semi-finals.

Post Messi Barca will not be competing for big titles. Plus Koeman could be binned before the season even starts. Hopefully Gini stays the season 🙏🏻

They’ll probably look at getting him for free next summer, as it seems we aren’t planning to extend his contract.

He is not pushing it, so he doesn’t get the same hate as Coutinho. He knows LFC will have to sell if he doesnt sign.
