Amid the effects of recent events, radio stations have played ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ in order to help boost the public’s morale and Liverpool fans are loving it.
The 2019/20 Premier League season is currently on hold until April 30 at the earliest. The campaign will continue, but only when it is safe to do so. (via BBC Sport).
Liverpool fans may have been worrying about whether current affairs will snub their first-ever Premier League title, however the most recent news and hearing their club’s official song on the radio has lifted their spirits.
On Friday morning, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ was played across several radio stations, started by the idea of Dutch radio presenter Sander Hoogendoorn who wanted to unite the public in solidarity against the harsh effects of recent events (via Liverpool Echo). The song was played across the UK, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands (via Liverpool).
One fan has said listening to the song was ‘actually beautiful’ whilst another has said the experience was ’emotional’.
