Adrian has reflected on his first season with Liverpool and admits he wouldn’t mind retiring with the club.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper, who has become a controversial figure amongst fans, is more than happy with where he is at the moment.
Quoted by Mundo Deportivo (relayed via @AnfieldEdition), Adrian has said he hopes ‘to stay longer’ with Liverpool after enjoying his first campaign with the Reds. The Spaniard is contracted with the Merseyside outfit until next summer with an optional extra year after 2021.

“In football we don’t know where we are going to be tomorrow,” Adrian said. “A year ago, I was without a contract. You have to enjoy this and live in the moment, but why not [retire at Liverpool]?”
Despite his positive comments, a lot of Liverpool fans aren’t impressed with what the 33-year-old has said. One supporter has tweeted ‘can’t he just retire immediately?’ Another thinks he has ‘blood on his hands’ as a result of him costing Liverpool their place in the both the FA Cup and Champions League with some errors in goal.
