Liverpool fans on Twitter had plenty of love for David Luiz yesterday

Liverpool fans all over the world went to sleep happy last night as they are guaranteed to be top of the Premier League until at least next Saturday when Manchester City take on Everton in the first game of matchday 17. That’s all because Maurizio Sarri’s Blues overcame Pep Guardiola’s City on Saturday and after David Luiz scored Chelsea’s 2nd, the Reds have been raving over him.

It’s not very often that any rival fans take to Twitter, or anywhere for that matter, to show some love for Chelsea’s Brazilian centre-back. David Luiz is one that often manages to get under the skin of his rivals and you can forgive a lot of supporters for throwing abuse at him. However, yesterday he was Liverpool’s saviour as his second-half strike added to N’Golo’s Kante’s first-half effort to down Manchester City.

The huge performance from Luiz was one that the Reds will love watching back and if they can beat both Napoli and Manchester United next week then a lot of supporters will believe that they really can win something this season. Jurgen Klopp has found his perfect formula and it will just be up to the rest of the Premier League to take points off of their title rivals as they aim to win their first ever Premier League crown.
