Whilst at a glimpse it looks like Liverpool’s attacking lineup stole the show against Red Star Belgrade last night, those who watched the game will tell you otherwise. The front three all scored but it was work from Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum and Xherdan Shaqiri that made it all possible, and the Reds are lauding their Dutch midfielder Wijnaldum.
Still don't think enough is being said about Gini Wijnaldum this season. If he was the £50m player we'd signed from abroad this summer, everyone would be losing the plot.

Whilst Fabinho has taken longer than expected to get up to speed and has missed the start of the season, Wijnaldum has taken the spot that the Kopites believed would be Fabinho’s and shone. His displays in the middle of the park have been simply outstanding and the versatile ex-Newcastle man won’t be getting dropped anytime soon if he can keep putting in performances that match the way he’s been playing this season.
It’s hard to think of a time in the season so far where Wijnaldum has let down any Liverpool fans or his teammates. He’s been thoroughly consistent and played with a level of confidence that you only see from those who are best in the world. If his levels remain as high as they have been then The Reds will be the team to beat this season and it could spell trouble for Fabinho, who may struggle to get back into the side.

So spot on this, he is head and shoulders our best midfielder. He's playing with swagger this season.

Last season I thought team was crying out for a spurs dembele like player but wijnaldum has really stepped up. To be fair to him he was same last season after ox got injured. Like to stats for how many times he's given ball away this season, can't be many.

So true. Certain players seem to get all the praise whereas others get a bit taken for granted. He was a stand-out player for me last night
