Liverpool fans on Twitter were buzzing to see Lovren hooked so early yesterday

Liverpool fans on Twitter were jumping for joy yesterday when just six minutes into their FA Cup clash against Wolves at Molineux, Dejan Lovren suffered a muscle injury and was replaced by 16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever, and after the way the Croatian defender performed at The Etihad last week, they were delighted to see him hooked.

Lovren has made a reputation for himself of being a liability at the back, yet off the pitch, he doesn’t seem to understand how to act and often comes out with ridiculous sound bites. Even the Liverpool fans struggle to comprehend some of the things he says, like after the World Cup semi-final when he publicly backed himself as one of the best defenders in the world.

Either way, Lovren is one who seriously worries the Reds whenever he plays and they’ll be keen to see the defender spend some time out of the squad, which is admittedly tough at the moment given how few central defenders Jurgen Klopp has fit. However, even if they have to field the young Hoever, they’d rather do that then have Lovren starting when it comes to Brighton away on Saturday.
