Liverpool fans were absolutely loving life when they saw their lineup ahead of the home clash with Bournemouth yesterday. Jurgen Klopp went for a strong midfield with Fabinho, Naby Keita and Georginio Wijnaldum, and it was the latter of three who shone the brightest as the Dutchman scored a sublime goal for 2-0.

The Reds were treated to a moment of pure brilliance and improvisation on the 34-minute mark. Andrew Robertson spotted Wijnaldum hosting towards the Cherries’ box when he found him with a lovely ball. Still, though, the Dutchman had it all to do as he took an exquisite first touch before dinking the ball over Artur Boruc for his second Premier League goals of the season.
His goal and his all-round performance in the midfield was enough to ensure that he won the man of the match award for his part in the game, and it was more than deserved. Last time out in the Premier League Klopp opted against using Wijnaldum as they fell to a 1-1 draw at West Ham. However, the ex-Newcastle man was back and at his very best yesterday, with no one arguing about his contribution.
