Fabinho has received praise in abundance after his solid performance in defence against Chelsea on Sunday.
The midfielder slipped into the backline alongside Virgil van Dijk in the absence of usual first choice Joe Gomez. With a staggering 97% passing accuracy, four tackles and interceptions made and 5/8 long balls, Fabinho could be in contention for the Dutchman’s new partner (via Sofascore).

In fact, Jurgen Klopp has now named the defensive midfielder as his fourth choice centre-back, according to James Pearce.
Following this up, the official Liverpool Twitter has posted a highlight reel of Fabinho’s performance at Stamford Bridge at the weekend. Loads of Reds fans have flooded the comments of the video to heap praise on the £50.4million-valued Brazil international.
One Kopite has generously stated that Fabinho ‘outclasses Maguire’ at centre-back. Harry Maguire’s shift against Crystal Palace was a disappointing one as Manchester United lost 3-1 and the England international gave the ball away 10 times (via Sofascore).
