Liverpool: Fans lap up reports of potential Ousmane Dembele loan deal

With Liverpool all but confirming the signing of Thiago Alcantara, the Anfield rumour mill is now back up and running.

One of the latest pieces of news to emerge is their interest in Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele. According to Diario Sport (relayed via @LFCTransferRoom), Liverpool are considering a swoop for the Frenchman in a potential loan move.

Jurgen Klopp reportedly admires the 23-year-old and believes that he will help bolster his attacking options this season. However, the Catalonians will not let Dembele leave on loan without including an ‘obligation to buy’ clause.

Whether this is something the Merseyside outfit are willing to facilitate is unclear, but a lot of fans are already on board with bringing the £50.4m-valued winger to Anfield.

Despite a quiet 2019/20 season where he made just five La Liga appearances, the interest in Dembele is more than warranted. The 2018/19 campaign saw him contribute 14 goals and nine assists across all competitions and he also played a part in France’s World Cup victory in 2018 (via Transfermarkt).
