Liverpool supporters have been very disappointed in the last few hours after seeing their team suffer a shock defeat in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Jurgen Klopp’s men went into their encounter with Red Star Belgrade sat at the top of Group C having picked up six points from their first three matches, and thus in good position ahead of their clash in the Serbian capital. Yet the Reds produced a very insipid display to go down 2-0 on Tuesday night, with a brace from Milan Pavkow sealing a deserved victory for Red Star Belgrade on what was a very frustrating evening for Klopp and his team.
As such, there have been many despondent Liverpudlians up and down the country in recent times, although several have taken to Twitter to praise the efforts of Andy Robertson on Tuesday night, despite their shocker in Belgrade.
The Scotland international has been a revelation at the Merseyside giants in recent times in becoming one of the best left backs in the Premier League, laying on four assists in all competitions already this term to underline his fine form.
And while the Reds were particularly poor on Tuesday night, the 24-year-old was a rare bright spark down the Liverpool left-hand-side, exploits that were noticed and praised by plenty of Liverpudlians on Twitter…
Very poor all round tonight.
Not point singling out anyone.
Poor team selection, poor performances all round.
Think only Robertson played well.
Need to get Shaqiri into this side going forwards as we need his creativity.

I wish all our players had the same passion as Robertson. #LFC

The only player who was up for it tonight was Robertson. The rest were trash

Robertson is the only player who never turns in a bad performance. I’d move him to striker now. #nothingtolose #LFC

Only Robertson should get the plane home. The rest can walk. #lfc

I would have thought if anyone deserved credit though it would have to be him or Robertson. Midfield definitely let us down massively.
