Liverpool: Fans react to Dani Ceballos’ comments that he rejected a move to Anfield in favour of Arsenal

Loads of Liverpool fans poked fun at Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos after he explained why he turned down a move to Anfield in favour of the Emirates.

The 23-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Arsenal having arrived from Real Madrid in the summer. Despite this, he has still struggled for game time as he has only made seven starts in the Premier League for the Gunners. Indeed, he has scored just one goal and provided two assists in 18 appearances.

Ceballos told Marca that he was flattered with the interest from Liverpool, but did not regret his decision because of former boss Unai Emery. He added that he probably would not have fit the Anfield club’s philosophy, which was labelled as ‘heavy metal football‘ by Jurgen Klopp. As a result, supporters mocked Ceballos about his work rate, making their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he made the right choice and hinted that he does not work hard enough, while another stated that the Spain international was “not good enough”.

After all, this is the man Roberto Firmino embarrassed with a sublime piece of skill during the Reds’ win over the Gunners back in August, so it’s not as if his season has gone swimmingly since snubbing the move.
