Liverpool fans have responded to the news that youngster Matteo Ritaccio has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 18-year-old has impressed Barry Lewtas, the manager of the U18s squad, and was offered a full-time deal at Melwood.

The American teenager has had a good start to the U18 Premier League season with one goal in his first five outings for the young Reds.
He featured 18 times last season and even had an appearance in the Premier League 2.

Ritaccio is New-York born with Italian parents and typically plays as a central midfielder. He has also featured for the United States at all youth levels for his age group and currently plays for the U20 side.
Supporters were delighted with the news of the youngster signing his first deal and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he was “better than Messi”, while another described him as a “baller”.
