Liverpool: Fans are thrilled as Melissa Reddy announces major Kostas Tsimikas update

Liverpool’s hunt for reinforcements in defence has finally taken a positive turn as they inch closer to signing Kostas Tsimikas.

Melissa Reddy has reported that with the Reds failing to reach an agreement for initial target Jamal Lewis, a medical is expected to take place next week for the Greek left-back.

The Premier League champions are looking to provide back-up for stalwart Andy Robertson heading into next season. Tsimikas will reportedly cost the club €13m (£11.75m), with personal terms still to be agreed.

The 24-year-old made 46 appearances for Olympiakos this season and contributed seven assists across all competitions (via Transfermarkt).

Loads of Liverpool fans have flocked to Reddy’s update and are glad to finally see the club head towards their first signing of the summer. One supporter has said they ‘love the way we do business’ as they reflect on the fact that the Reds dropped the interest in Lewis after Norwich claimed they wanted £20million for him – double the amount of their original offer.
