Liverpool overcame a serious scare in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, beating Red Bull Salzburg 4-3 at Anfield.
The Reds had started the game brilliantly and were 3-0 up after just 36 minutes thanks to goals from Sadio Mane, Andrew Robertson and Mohamed Salah.
But things quickly unravelled for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and they were pegged back to 3-3 after Hwang Hee-chan, Takumi Minamino and Erling Braut Haland all found the back of the net.
As a result of the comeback, Klopp decided to make a substitution shortly after Salzburg got their equaliser. He opted to bring Jordan Henderson off and replaced him with fellow Englishman James Milner.
Shortly after that change the Reds got their winner thanks to another Salah strike, but at the time their fans were not happy that Milner was put on instead of Naby Keita.
The former RB Leipzig midfielder is only just coming back after a groin problem he sustained in August and perhaps Klopp is managing his minutes to make sure he doesn’t suffer any setbacks. However, the supporters felt that Keita would have added more attacking impetus to the side as they searched for a winning goal.
Here is what some Liverpool fans had to say on Twitter about Klopp’s decision to bring on Milner instead of Keita…
