Liverpool are reportedly ‘still confident’ that Georginio Wijnaldum will sign a new deal with the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano (relayed via @AnfieldEdition), the Reds believe the Dutchman will commit his future the the Merseyside outfit by penning a new long-term deal.

Wijnaldum has arguably become a cult hero at Anfield after some of the crucial performances he has contributed to his team. The 29-year-old’s brace against Barcelona at Anfield last season played a huge part in Liverpool’s Champions League success. His superb display helped overturn a 3-0 first leg deficit in the semi-finals of the competition.
He also netted an important goal earlier on this season against Sheffield United, in what would have been a 0-0 draw without his 70th-minute strike (via Transfermarkt).

Loads of Liverpool fans are urging the £36m-valued man to sign a new deal – one Kopite has commented on the update saying it is ‘the news I wanted to hear’. Another fan has branded Wijnaldum as a ‘top player’ and wants to see him stay at the club.
