Liverpool enjoyed another run out in a pre-season friendly as they secured a 2-2 draw against RB Salzburg on Tuesday.
In what looked like it would be disappointment for the Premier League champions, one man put in a stellar shift in front of goal and cancelled out the home side’s two early strikes.

Patson Daka opened up the scoring just three minutes into the match and extended Salzburg’s lead ten minutes later. It took until the final 20 minutes of the game before Liverpool bounced back. Rhian Brewster was the man of the hour after netting a brace in the space of nine minutes and pulling the scoreline back to a deadlock.
The England youth international spent time last season on loan with Swansea City and impressed with his performances in the final third. Brewster scored an impressive ten goals in 20 Championship appearances for the Swans plus one in the play-offs, and looks set to continue his fine form for the Reds this campaign.
Plenty of Liverpool fans have lauded the £4.8million-valued forward’s display against Salzburg, with one supporter branding his second goal as ‘excellent’ and another generously stating he ‘has serious prime Sturridge vibes’ after footage of the strike emerged on Twitter.

Indeed, Brewster is beginning to show the kind of flair once displayed by Daniel Sturridge in a red shirt. In Liverpool’s famous ‘near miss’ 2013/14 season, the former Red scored 22 times in 29 Premier League appearances (via Transfermarkt).

At first it looked really basic but then after seeing it more times, it is actually a great effort, he speeds up first, but then accounts for the back spin, hits just hard and high enough for the defender in front. Looks like we have a coming super striker in Brewster👌😎

Nothing stopping him from stepping up, top drawer finisher. Excellent at Swansea , now top scorer in Austria. Quality 👌
