An update has emerged about Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott’s future and his ongoing loan stint at Blackburn Rovers.
Should Liverpool consider recalling Harvey Elliot?
No recall clause in Elliot’s Blackburn deal
Elliott is currently on loan at Blackburn after he joined the club in the summer transfer window of 2020 and This is Anfield recently interviewed Lancashire Telegraph journalist Rich Sharpe about Elliott’s situation at Blackburn. The journalist had a lot of praise for how the youngster is performing at the Championship club and he was also asked about whether Liverpool have a recall clause in Elliott’s loan deal at Blackburn.
In response to this, the journalist said: “From what I understand, there is no recall clause and he’ll be seeing out the season at Ewood.”
Elliott has impressed in his spell at Blackburn so far. The 17-year-old has made 18 appearances in the Championship, but he has also scored four goals and has picked up six assists for Rovers. He has been the club’s third-highest rated player in the league campaign so far.
Sharpe had a lot of praise for Elliott as he said: “His weight of pass is exceptional, as good as I’ve seen from a young player. From interviewing him, he seems incredibly switched on for someone of his age, very driven, determined, but he has bought into the team environment as well.”
Elliot would benefit from Blackburn stay
Considering his goal contribution numbers and the praise from Sharpe, it is easy to see that Elliott has enjoyed his time at Blackburn so far. His goals and assists tally are very, very good for someone who is still 17-years-old.
Elliott is a right-winger by trade but can also play on the left. Liverpool already have Mohamed Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri as options for the right wing. They also have a total of three options for the left wing spot right now (as per Transfermarkt).
Because of that, it would be best for Elliott to stay at Blackburn and get first-team football to develop even more.
