Liverpool fans are looking up with keen interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro seem to think they could well be about to make a huge bid for Jack Wilshere.
The once shining star in the Arsenal side has endured numerous injuries, not to mention smoking debacles off the field and we wonder if Arsene Wenger thinks it is time to cut his losses when it comes to the England international.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are desperate to add some quality to the middle of their park and given Steven Gerrard will be leaving in the summer, the Reds will reportedly splash the cash to make sure they do not fall further behind their rivals, and are reportedly willing to pay a massive £25 million for Wilshere.
As one of our punters points out, we would certainly not be paying £25 million for Wilshere but then again, Liverpool have overpaid for players in the past – mainly from Southampton!
