Metro have Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern looking up with interest as they seem to think that the Reds are set to beat Chelsea to Charlie Austin.
The forward looks set to leave Queens Park Rangers this summer and after a brilliant season in the top flight of English football, he has attracted a few admiring glances and as one of our regulars notes, we can understand clubs looking at Austin, but Liverpool need a world class main man up top and we do not think Austin is that man.
Brendan Rodgers is not a favourite of our regulars these days in the tavern and a few of our punters note that they wouldn’t trust him with £10 let alone £100 million again!
