Newcastle United: Allan Saint-Maximin late goal against Oxford United in FA comeback win has supporters gushing

After Newcastle United spurned a two-goal lead inside the last ten minutes of normal time, with Oxford striking a couple of hammer blows to take the contest beyond 90 minutes, it took a moment of magic from one man in order to ensure the Magpies’ place in the FA Cup fifth round

First-half goals from Sean Longstaff and Joelinton propelled Steve Bruce’s side into a two-goal advantage, with the St. James’ Park outfit needing to just shut up shop in the second period to ensure their place in the next round.

However, in dramatic fashion, Oxford forced the Toon Army into a bout of extra time – with goals from Nathan Holland and Liam Kelly in the last ten minutes drawing the League One minnows level. From then on, it was a nervy affair, but substitute Allan Saint-Maximin managed to clinch a dramatic late win for the Magpies – cutting inside and firing a rocket past Simon Eastwood.

As a result, supporters have been going crazy over the Frenchman’s individual brilliance – find all of their best comments from Twitter down below.
