Man City eye move for £25.6m-rated defensive star

The Man City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are eyeing a defensive rebuild…

The general consensus in the Football Transfer Tavern is that Man City are a near-perfect outfit. Guardiola has got his men playing fantastically – and there are close to no flaws in the current City side.

However, where issues begin to arise is when considering the future; and one area that is in desperate need of a rebuild is the Man City defence.

Players like Zabaleta, Clichy and Kompany, whilst legendary at the Etihad, are getting on – and they are quickly reaching the tail end of their respective careers.

This is, seemingly, a notion that Guardiola agrees with – and it would appear that he is looking to remedy it.

According to the Mirror, Man City are eyeing a move for Juventus full-back Alex Sandro, who has a £25.6m release clause in his contract.

Interestingly, they add that the left-back could yet sign a new deal with Juventus, which the Mirror are reporting could up his price to the £40m mark.

Sandro has been a crucial part of the Juventus first team so far this season, having already made 12 league starts. He has also contributed 3 assists for the historic Italian giants.

He would likely replace the likes of Clichy and Kolarov in the Man City first team, in a move that would no doubt be a welcome change for Pep Guardiola.

The Man City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern think that whilst they have been fantastic servants, Guardiola must now look to the future.

Our landlord thinks that Sandro could be the first signing of many…
