Manchester City: Fans have mixed views on Jayden Braaf’s potential

Plenty of Manchester City fans have been discussing the potential of rising star Jayden Braaf, with a mixture of views on the teenage prospect.

Twitter channel @CityChiefPlus posted a compilation of highlights from the 17-year-old, who has impressed for the club’s youth teams in recent months.

The Dutch winger has struck 11 goals in 26 appearances at underage level for Manchester City this season, including nine goals in 16 games in Premier League 2. He has been likened to former Etihad youth prospect Jadon Sancho, who has gone on to star for Borussia Dortmund and win senior England caps. A scout report on Braaf in the Daily Mail described him as a “powerfully built” youngster with a “surge of pace” and a maturity beyond his years.

It will be compelling to see what the future holds for the 17-year-old at the Etihad and whether he can emulate another winger in Leroy Sane, a two-time Premier League winner currently attracting transfer interest from Bayern Munich; or end up like Brandon Barker, who made only one senior appearance for the club before going to Rangers, where he has been frequently criticised this season.
