Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to an update from German football journalist Raphael Honigstein on the future of Leroy Sane.
Last week The Telegraph reported that Bayern Munich are preparing a £56.75m bid for the winger and there now seems to be discernible progress in the deal. Honigstein told The Athletic’s The Ornstein & Chapman Podcast that a deal between Sane and Bayern is moving “fairly close”, with an agreement between the two parties “basically done”. The update was subsequently shared by @City_Xtra on Twitter.
A deal between Leroy Sané and Bayern Munich is moving ‘fairly close’ – Bayern believe an agreement with the player and agent is ‘basically done’, with just an agreement with #ManCity remaining.

The Bundesliga champions had apparently prepared an offer of €100m (£87.13m) for the 24-year-old last summer (as per Sport Bild), only for any potential deal to be scuppered by a long-term cruciate ligament injury for Sane in August. Bayern recently renewed their interest with an initial £35m valuation which the Premier League champions rebuffed (as per The Telegraph).
These Manchester City fans took to Twitter to have their say on the latest update in the Sane transfer saga, with one supporter believing that manager Pep Guardiola should take the blame over the affair.
