Manchester City and Manchester United fans often lock horns here in the Transfer Tavern and they’ve got a new reason to fight it out today.
The Daily Star says the two Premier League title contenders are fighting it out for the signature of Youri Tielemans, the highly-rated 18-year-old Anderlecht star.
The report claims United have been scouting the teenager for over a year but City have also been keeping tabs, keen to add the star to their Belgium contingent that includes club-captain Vincent Company and their £56m signing Kevin De Bruyne.
Tielemans is regarded as the next big thing to emerge from Belgium’s exceptional factory of young talent, holding the record for the youngest Champions League player after making his bow aged just 16 years and 148 days.
He’s been linked to Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona which could make things difficult for the Manchester outfits but they’re keen to battle-it-out for his signature nevertheless.
Which Manchester club would be better for Tielemans? Let us know in the comments below!
