Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been debating all week who they’d bring in to replace David De Gea this summer, as the Spaniard continues to attract a wealth of interest from Real Madrid.
A host of big names have been mentioned by the punters in the bar but a fresh name has been brought to the debate by the latest reports, with Marca sensationally claiming Jose Mourinho is eyeing a swoop for Manchester City’s Joe Hart.
The England international is currently on-loan with Serie A outfit Torino after being ousted from the Etihad Stadium last summer by Pep Guardiola and he’s widely expected to leave the Citizens on a permanent deal this summer.
Whilst it was previously considered that Hart would have to take a step-down, moving to a club that wouldn’t be able to offer him Champions League football, Mourinho’s offer could keep Hart at the top of the game.
However, our landlord doesn’t expect City to approve a sale to a Premier League rival and anticipates they would rather get a smaller sum from offloading Hart elsewhere- although European sides would find it difficult to match his wage demands.
