Manchester United: Fans blast Jack Grealish as Aston Villa set Red Devils a transfer deadline

Grealish

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has revealed that Jack Grealish’s future at Villa Park will be resolved next month, according to reports.

Manchester United are interested in the playmaker and will look to sign him in the summer despite his current club avoiding relegation from the Premier League. Smith’s side earned a hard-fought draw with West Ham at London Stadium after Grealish looked to have sealed the win with a screamer in the second half (BBC), but a 1-1 draw was still enough to keep them up.

According to Manchester Evening News, as per @utdreport, the Red Devils were considering a £65m deal for the Villa captain in February. While Villa will be able to demand a higher asking price now, they will not want to jeopardise their relationship with Grealish, who has arguably given his all for his boyhood club this season.

The 24-year-old has scored 10 goals and supplied six assists overall, taking two  shots per game, averaging 2.5 key passes, and completing two dribbles on average in the Premier League.

Samuel Luckhurst has suggested that Villa will find it hard to ignore such a tempting offer, especially give the current economic climate.

However, it is worth remembering the Red Devils spent £47m on Bruno Fernandes, and it remains to be seen how much they will be willing to spend on the former England under-21 international, who is still uncapped by the national team at senior level.

Grealish, who is only one year younger than the Portuguese midfielder, arguably hasn’t hit the same levels as of yet. After arriving at Old Trafford in January, Fernandes has scored eight goals and created seven assists in 14 games in the Premier League so far.

Unsurprisingly, many United fans blasted Grealish as an “average player” on social media, with several supporters branding the fee “stupid” and “ridiculous” as he is still largely unproven at the top levels of the game.

65m is ridiculous

That’s a joke! Good player! But not worth that, see Bruno as example

65m+ for an average player which biggest moment is not going down to championship.
Players like Thiago and Van de Beek cost between 35-40m and both are clear of the loser Grealish.

We would be mad to spend 65 mil + on Grealish. If we need players for squad depth would Buendia at Norwich not be a better option. Happy to be squad player, good stats this season in a struggling side and probably get him for about 20 mil.

Nope 50m max he is about a 35m player but he is English so add the typical 5-15m tax on it.. 65m for grealish is stupid don’t care that its not my money its still sets a bad statement.. If grealish is 65m then sancho must be 200m..
