Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are giggling excitedly after being alerted to reports that a club legend could return to the Premier League.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been regularly linked with a return to Old Trafford after leaving the club for Real Madrid in 2009.
Now, close friend and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Jose Semedo has claimed the Portuguese star will return to England. Speaking to TalkSport, the former team-mate of Ronaldo said:
“He is very happy at Real Madrid and he loves English football, he loves English people and I think deep down he will come back to England. He doesn’t want to finish his career without coming back to England.”
“He said he wishes Real Madrid was in England but that is not possible so I believe he will end his career in English football.”
United fans at the bar are confidently declaring that United will be where he finishes career, stating he wouldn’t dare join a rival Premier League club.
