Manchester United fans enjoying a few drinks in the Transfer Tavern before their crucial Champions League clash this evening are delighted to hear a young talent has vowed to stay and fight for a spot at Old Trafford.
Andreas Pereira has revealed he may leave the club on-loan in January but is adamant is long0-term future is at Old Trafford.
19-year-old Pereira has started just twice this season, with each appearance coming in the League Cup against Middlesbrough and Ipswich Town, seeing first-team football opportunities under Louis Van Gaal extremely limited.
However, the teenager told Trivela he’s determined to remain at Old Trafford– though stating a short-term exit could be beneficial for his development.
‘My goal is to stay here, to try and win my place at United. But if I happen to have the option to go out on loan and do what Januzaj is doing and gain experience in another team, no problem, I will.’
‘I’m working hard, giving my best. I’m waiting for the right moment. I have to be patient.’
United fans at the bar rate Pereira very highly but state he’s a little way off the first-team at the moment, believing a loan stint away would be perfect for his development.
