Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are confident that Jose Mourinho will return them to the Champions League for next season – even if they remain in sixth at present.
Indeed, despite being on one of the most impressive runs of unbeaten form around, United still remain outside of the top four spots – testament to the red-hot pace the big clubs at the top are setting.
Certainly, United cannot afford to miss out on those spots if they are to return to the upper echelons of the game though it appears they could be handed a boost by Toni Kroos.
According to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol – via The Daily Star – the world-class midfielder could decide to leave Real Madrid for Old Trafford in the summer if their season ends up unsuccessful.
There’s every chance it could, too, with the La Liga title race tightening up and still plenty of obstacles to come in the Champions League so United might just get a very welcome summer gift.
Certainly, Kroos would be a top-drawer addition to the squad and United would no longer have to worry about who is going to replace Michael Carrick as chief ball-player.
