Man United reportedly tell midfielder they are open to summer move following links

Still celebrating their EFL Cup final win, the Manchester United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern have had smiles painted across their faces ever since Sunday evening.

Jose Mourinho has landed the first piece of silverware in charge of the Red Devils, so it’s all happy families right now for our punters, who are looking forward to what is hopefully a long-term project under his stead.

Our local United fans are well aware there will be plenty of changes to the playing staff over the next few months and have been intrigued to read a transfer tidbit emanating out of the Manchester Evening News.

They’ve revealed Ashley Young is understood to have been told the club could be more receptive to letting him leave this summer, with Mourinho seemingly wanting to keep him over the New Year as his side continue to battle on three fronts. Though the 31-year-old isn’t a regular starter, he often makes the matchday squad as he can cover various positions.

Linked with a move to China over the January transfer window, Mourinho reportedly wanted around £15m to allow him to go. As useful a member of the squad as he is, the United fans here aren’t overly bothered about the prospect of him leaving.

Will Young stay past the summer? Let us know below…
