The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Jose Mourinho starts to utilise more young players going forward…
Young Marcus Rashford’s career has stagnated somewhat this term, with Jose Mourinho undoubtedly under huge pressure to achieve maximum success in his debut season in Manchester.
Now that he is settled, though, young players are beginning to rise back to prominence, as evidenced by Rashford’s regular game time in recent weeks.
This is, seemingly, a trend that Mourinho is looking to continue – with the Portuguese boss seemingly keen to increase the number of young players at his disposal. This is evidenced by a recent report from Gianluca Di Marzio, with the journalist revealing that Man Utd have taken exciting 16-year-old talent Pierpaolo D’Errico on trial at the club’s Carrington training ground.
Whilst the report does not go as far as to say that the Red Devils are set to make a move, they are certainly considering it – given that he has now arrived in England.
This is certainly interesting for the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern, with many fearful that Jose Mourinho may regress on Man Utd’s recent progres when it comes to their youth team. The likes of Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Timothy Fosu-Mensah have all been semi-regulars in the past few years – and this is not something that the fans want to see change.
Mourinho has often been well-known for his lack of youth focus, as evidenced by the lack of players that came through when he was at Chelsea, but this appears to be changing.
