With Premier League football returning this weekend, the Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping that the Red Devils can get back to winning ways…
Jose Mourinho’s battle looks set to be an uphill one this season, with his side failing to impress so far this term – with Man Utd currently sat in a very disappointing 6th place.
Mourinho has never been one to rest upon his laurels, though, and it would appear that the Portuguese boss is already looking ahead to January and to which players he can bring in to improve his side.
According to the Daily Star, Jose Mourinho is eyeing a move for £25m-rated Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj.
The Albanian defender has impressed so far this season, and it is believed that Mourinho sees him as the ideal replacement for Matteo Darmian and Chris Smalling – both of whom are expected to leave the club.
Right-back has been a real problem area for Mourinho this season, with neither Valencia or Young really cutting the mustard so far. In truth, Man Utd have lacked a solid footing on the right-hand side for years, stretching back to the departure of Gary Neville in 2011.
Hysaj, who is currently 22-years-old, has impressed so far this season and has picked up 9 starts in Serie A so far this term.
Our landlord thinks that Mourinho needs to move fast and replace his flailing defence – and he thinks that Hysaj would certainly be a good place to start.
