They add that the move is in response to poor form from his current defenders, with players including the likes of Chris Smalling disappointing so far this season.
Virgil van Dijk, conversely, has had an excellent season – and has been a constant in the Southampton back line, having made 11 league starts this season.
After moving from Celtic in 2015, the Dutchman has cemented his place as a top-tier central defender – and our landlord thinks that it is just a matter of time before he makes a move to a European powerhouse like Man Utd.
