Jose Mourinho has always been fantastic at improving players, but he’s not been quite as good at that at Man Utd. He’s been unable to turn the group into title-winners, but the signs are there indicating that he’s beginning to have more of an impact.
Over the last few weeks, in particular, a handful of individuals have got much better, and that’s certainly true of Victor Lindelof.
Lindelof has really struggled since he moved to Man Utd, but this season he’s improved, and over the last month or two, he’s been one of Man Utd’s best defensive performers.
Inconsistency and mistakes have been replaced by constant quality and stability, and he has had such a crucial hand in Man Utd’s recent turnaround.
His quality is finally being recognised at Old Trafford, and it’s clear that his rises has also been recognised in his native Sweden. As per the official Man Utd website, Lindelof has been named the Swedish Player of the Year.
He’s always been pretty consistent for his country, so that likely played a major role, but his recent domestic rise was likely influential too.
Man Utd fans, who would have in the past been less than complimentary, clearly recognise his rise, as in response to the news, the Swede has been given lots of praise. Loads of Man Utd fans have paid tribute to their quickly-improving defender.
