Man Utd had yet another frustrating night at Old Trafford on Tuesday, with the Red Devils only managing to bag a win in the latter stages of the game thanks to a goal from Marouane Fellaini.
The truth is that the clash could have ended far worse for the Red Devils. They looked poor, as they have frequently this term, with a lack of quality from front to back proving to be problematic for Jose Mourinho.
There was, however, one outstanding performer – David De Gea. De Gea has had a difficult season. Like many of his teammates, he’s struggled for form, and in contrast to what he’s offered over the last few years, he’s failed to impress.
However, that certainly wasn’t the case on Tuesday. De Gea kept Man Utd in the game on a number of occasions, and for that, the Red Devils online are offering him a lot of praise.
Jose Mourinho described him as the “best goalkeeper in the world”, and many supporters are inclined to agree.

I hope he stays till he retires. Without @D_DeGea we would be even worse. The team needs sorting but he will always have his place in goal for me no matter what he’s the best in the world by far no wonder why he keeps winning our player of the year. De Gea no.1 #MUFC
