Man Utd reportedly make move for attacker as Mourinho plots last minute deal

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are dreaming of the last minute spending spree…

The Red Devils have spent freely this summer, with big money moves for the likes of Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku likely to turn Mourinho’s team into title challengers this season.

It’s been a fantastic summer, but could it be about to get even better? The transfer window closes tomorrow, but do Man Utd have one last surprise up their sleeve?

According to Diario Gol, Mourinho most certainly does, with the Spanish publication reporting that Man Utd have made a massive move for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale. An offer of around €105 million (£97.17 million) has apparently been made, leaving the fans in the pub feeling very excited indeed.

Bale has, of course, had a tough time of it at Real Madrid, and with the likes of Marcos Asensio and Cristiano Ronaldo really impressing, his role within the first team is far from guaranteed.

That is not to say that he’s available – he’ll demand a massive fee for Madrid to be open to his sale – but Man Utd do appear desperate to make it happen.

Landlord’s Verdict

Gareth Bale is one of the best players in Europe – that cannot be denied. He has struggled with injuries lately, but if he can overcome that blip, he’ll return to his rightful place near the top of the pile.

His market value has likely never been lower during his stint in Spain, so if Man Utd are going to pounce – now is the time to do it.

It’ll be difficult to make a move happen this late in the window, but stranger things have happened this summer.
