The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are still living in dreamland…
It has been a sensational summer at Old Trafford, with latest signing Romelu Lukaku really putting down a marker for the Red Devils’ aspirations for the season ahead.
Indeed, for most supporters, things couldn’t be going better, but according to Miguel Delaney of the Independent – they could be about to.
Delaney is reporting on Twitter that a Man Utd move for Ivan Perisic is very close, with the Inter Milan winger seemingly closing in on a move to Old Trafford.
Perisic now very close. Will be good signing. Crosses the ball almost five times more than United's current wingers – needed with Lukaku!

Perisic is an attacking midfielder with years of experience behind him, and unlike the majority of Man Utd’s attackers, he is an out-and-out winger in the rawest sense. Whilst players like Anthony Martial play the role out of need, rather than want, Perisic brings natural width – and Jose Mourinho clearly values that highly.
At 28-years-old, he isn’t the player for the future that most Man Utd fans look for in a new signing, but his age will be vital given the recent departures of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney.
Our landlord thinks that a few more signings are needed at Old Trafford this summer, and the signing of Perisic is – according to him – a great way to start.
