Man Utd should seriously be trying to oust Liverpool and sign this superb talent

Naby Keita

Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to see some players come in and help fire them to the Premier League title for 2017/18.

The men from Old Trafford had a good season at the end of the day last time out with two major trophies to show for things but that cannot be allowed to paper over the fact that the club was well off the pace in the Premier League.

For sure, then, Jose Mourinho really needs to sign some extra players this summer and one man we think they should be going after is Naby Keita.

Of course, the dynamic talent is being linked heavily with Liverpool by the likes of The Liverpool Echo but we think United should try and steal in as they could do with exactly that type of midfielder.

Indeed, Keita is a superb box-to-box talent and United definitely could do with some extra mobility from their side in the middle of the park.

Paul Pogba, as we’ve seen, is much better going forward than getting back and the only other player that has anywhere near the tenacity of Keita is Ander Herrera.

The Spaniard was one of United’s best players last season of course, too, but he still isn’t best suited to a role that needs him to get up and down the pitch.

He’s much more a player that wins the ball from deep and gets things going by passing it instead of driving forward with it.

Keita, then, would solve that issue and add some extra thrust to United’s attacks.

Thoughts, United fans? Let us know below!
