Bad news for the Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
Man Utd have struggled so far this season, with a number of the Red Devils’ first team players struggling to find their feet under Jose Mourinho.
This is none more true than with regards to the Man Utd strikeforce – with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney struggling for form.
This has, inevitably, led to speculation in the Football Transfer Tavern that Man Utd could look to reinforce – with Andrea Belotti touted with a big money move to the Manchester giants.
However, the Red Devils have suffered a huge blow in their pursuit of the dynamic attacker – with the Mirror reporting that he is set to sign a new deal with current club Torino, with an £80 million buyout clause likely to be included in the deal.
This will undoubtedly cause problems for Mourinho, as it would not only secure Belotti’s short-term future – but the huge buyout clause would likely prevent any move in the long-term future too.
Belotti has been in fine form this season, having already picked up 10 goals for Torino – having come off the back of a stellar campaign last year. During the 2015/16 season, Belotti bagged an impressive 12 goals – and his form this year looks set to better that.
A quick, technical forward – Belotti would be a great contrast to the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Man Utd – and would offer Mourinho another option up top.
The Man Utd fans were very keen to see Belotti come to Old Trafford – but feel that Mourinho will have to look elsewhere should he sign the new deal.
