Over the last few days, the Man Utd fans in the Tavern have been frantically googling and researching young Spanish star Fran Villalba.
The Red Devils were strongly linked with the young starlet, as per the Daily Mail, and the potential signing has generated a lot of interest amongst the Man Utd faithful.
Whilst a deal never looked imminent, the player’s agent confirmed that United were keen – and a few of the punters in the Tavern thought that negotiations would simply be a formality.
However, fast forward several days – and it looks like any prospective deal for the player is well and truly off.
As per Fran Villalba on Twitter, he has confirmed that he has signed a new 4-year-deal with the club, seemingly putting any suggestions of a departure on the backburner.
The Tweet, posted in Spanish, reads: “Very happy to renew [for] 4 years with the team of my life” before adding that he is looking forward to contributing “my bit to this great club”
