Manchester City fans are rolling their eyes here in the Football Transfer Tavern after seeing Metro’s latest claim about birthday cake fiend Yaya Toure.
The midfielder may be a little bit of an insecure character at times but there is no doubt he is one of their best players and as Manuel Pellegrini found out when Toure was away representing the Ivory Coast at the AFCON, it is a case of No Yaya, No Party for City as their results left a whole lot to be desired.
Toure has long been linked with a move away from the Etihad, with Paul Pogba even mentioned as a potential replacement, but as one of our punters notes, prying the starlet away from Juventus is no easy job – and we think that Toure could well leave without waiting for the club to find a replacement.
The midfielder has been prolific since arriving at the club in 2010, but has certainly had his problems and we think the rumours of an impending exit will roll on and on until a big enough birthday cake can be found.
