According to The Daily Mail, Manchester City are looking at signing Portugal’s holding midfielder William Carvalho in the near future.
The Citizens have been impressing their supporters here in the Transfer Tavern this year with the way they have quickly gone about adopting Pep Guardiola’s tactics and they now look good to challenge for the Premier League title at least.
The men from the Etihad are only a point behind league leaders Chelsea at the moment with the two sides set to clash this weekend in a huge fixture.
The winner of that game could be getting a huge edge in the title race whilst new signings in January will also be key, something Guardiola may be trying to target with the midfielder.
Carvalho is one of the most talked about holding players around right now but it is thought that his club Sporting Lisbon will not want to sell him in the near future.
That could mean City will have to wait until the summer to sign him but with the riches they have at their disposal our landlord isn’t ruling out a January move just yet.
