After suffering several injuries for Barcelona since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund back in 2017, including a recent thigh injury which will see him miss 10 weeks, some Manchester City supporters are fuming to be linked with Ousmane Dembele in an apparent £80.2m bid.
According to El Desmarque [via Sport Witness], as tweeted by City Chief, the Sky Blues have reportedly met with Dembele’s agent and are ‘open’ to paying a sum of around £80.2m in order to bring the youngster to the Etihad in time for next season.
Despite seemingly gathering crucial form in stages last campaign, scoring eight goals and assisting five others in 20 starts for the Catalans, some City supporters are definitely not convinced due to his torrid injury record over the past two seasons.
Pep Guardiola’s side have suffered a mountain of injuries themselves so far this campaign, with Aymeric Laporte, Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero, Ederson, Rodri and Oleksandr Zinchenko all requiring treatment at some stage.
As a result, these Manchester City supporters have fumed over the prospect of spending big to bring in someone who has had a turbulent past record with fitness.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
