After Manchester City bounced back from a harrowing defeat at Wolves to end the year in style on Sunday, rounding off a 2-0 home win over Sheffield United, supporters have leaped to praise defender Eric Garcia for his performance – with some of them suggesting he should start ahead of Nicolas Otamendi.
Goals from Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne eventually gave the Sky Blues a narrow victory over a stubborn Sheffield United side, ending 2019 and the decade as a whole with a much-needed win following their 3-2 loss at Molineux.
Should Man City sign Isco?

No
The match also saw City keep their first clean sheet since the away rout at Arsenal, and only their third in three months, with Pep Guardiola’s side famously suffering from defensive issues this campaign.
Aymeric Laporte’s injury has been at the centre of Guardiola’s woes at the back so far this season, but supporters may have identified a potential solution in youngster Garcia.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
Really what do they have to lose by playing him every game? Would have him over Otamendi now, never mind with more experience.

Agree. Tremendous performance by Eric Garcia. He’s very cool, confident and good on the ball. Lacks the physicality & size, could see him moving into a CDM role in time as reads the game well & has excellent distribution. Still need another CB though. Stones/Ota not good enough

I’m playing him whenever I feel like it.
The kid has guts, and plays beyond his years. Run him out.— burr (@gianthotchicken) December 30, 2019
Puyol, masherano, canavaro were not the tallest of defenders but are remembered as 3 of the greatest center backs in football

Garcia and Laporte are the partnership

I’d like to see him next to Laporte a few times when he’s back, Garcia may look even better with a true CB partner.
