Normal service was resumed for Manchester City on Saturday as they secured a 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park (via BBC Sport).
The Citizens had lost their previous game against Wolves prior to the international break, but responded in excellent fashion with goals from Gabriel Jesus and David Silva securing all three points.
Pep Guardiola had midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne back from injury for this one which was a major boost, as he played alongside Ilkay Gundogan and Silva in the middle of the park.
That meant that yet again young England star Phil Foden was forced to make do with a place on the substitutes bench.
The 19-year-old has struggled to get any game time this season, despite Guardiola claiming that he “deserves to play” and that he “wants to give him minutes,” (via Sky Sports).
Foden was eventually brought on in the 90th minute at Selhurst Park, which meant that his total amount of minutes on the pitch in the Premier League this season is now 11 (via WhoScored).
Plenty of City fans would like to see Foden be given more of a chance in the first team than he is currently getting, here is how some of them reacted to him coming on so late in the match on Twitter…
Why bother 😔

as much as I want Foden to stay, he has to stop the last two mins of every game. Should start giving him around 15 mins

Foden must just go on Loan for a game time for the whole season than come back. This is not good for him getting only 5 minutes of play…
